Whole-Home Smart Systems

Home Automation for Long Island, the Hamptons and South Florida

A smart home should be easier to live in, not harder to operate. Limitless brings lighting, shades, climate, audio, video and compatible security systems together through an app, engraved keypads or voice control, with a dependable network behind them.

01

One home, coordinated controls

Whole-home automation connects everyday actions instead of leaving each system in a separate app. An Arrival scene can bring up selected lights and music. A Movie scene can lower shades, adjust lighting and select the right audio-video source. An Away scene can set compatible climate zones and switch off the equipment you choose. We agree on those actions with you before programming them.

The goal is not to put every function on every screen. Keypads handle familiar room actions, an app provides broader control, and optional voice commands make common requests convenient. Lighting, shades and climate still need practical local controls for visitors and anyone who prefers a physical button. Cameras and door access are integrated only where the equipment and permissions support it; access to security functions is planned separately from entertainment.

02

Design the infrastructure before the interface

We begin with how the home will be used: occupied year-round or seasonally, a renovation or a new build, a single residence or a property with outdoor areas and outbuildings. Room-by-room planning establishes what should be controlled together and what should remain independent. It also identifies existing equipment worth keeping rather than replacing a working system simply to make everything new.

Our design and engineering work includes in-house CAD drawings, device locations, rack elevations and wiring documentation. Structured cabling provides the wired backbone for fixed equipment. Home networking and WiFi are designed alongside the controls, with UniFi or Ruckus equipment selected for the property. Where coverage needs closer study, Ekahau WiFi surveys help inform the wireless design.

A useful plan accounts for cable pathways, equipment ventilation, service access and the positions where people actually reach for a keypad. We coordinate those details with the architect, builder and other trades before walls close. In an existing home, the same review identifies accessible routes and places where a compatible wireless approach can reduce disruption.

03

Crestron at the center, the right platforms around it

Crestron is our primary whole-home automation platform. As a Crestron and Lutron dealer and programmer, we design the controls around the household rather than asking the household to adapt to a complicated interface. The dedicated Crestron page explains that platform in detail; this page covers how the complete home is planned across systems.

Lutron HomeWorks provides lighting control and shading integration, while Ketra lighting adds adjustable light where specified. Motorized shades manage daylight and privacy. Josh.ai voice control can provide another way to operate supported systems without replacing the keypads or app.

Sonos and Sonance serve different roles in the audio design: music playback and room-appropriate speakers. We plan source selection, listening zones and everyday volume control together. Security cameras and access control require their own review of devices, user permissions and compatible integrations. The network supports these systems; it is not an afterthought added once the controls are installed.

04

Service and upgrades for existing homes

We also service and upgrade existing Control4 systems. A takeover starts with an inventory of controllers, software, network equipment, connected devices and available documentation. We establish what is working, what is unsupported and what the owner wants to improve before recommending a repair, a staged upgrade or a larger redesign.

Existing televisions, speakers, lighting and climate equipment may be reusable, but compatibility is checked model by model. Some products offer only limited control, and others depend on manufacturer cloud services. We explain those limits before promising a single interface. An upgrade should solve a specific problem, such as confusing controls or unreliable connectivity, rather than add another layer of complexity.

05

Local teams in New York and South Florida

Our Long Island team works across Long Island, the Hamptons and New York City, with coverage extending to Greenwich, Connecticut and the Westchester border area. A seasonal Hamptons home may need straightforward arrival and departure scenes; a Manhattan apartment may need careful coordination of shade, lighting and building access constraints. The design follows the property, not a standard equipment bundle.

Our South Florida team serves Miami, Miami Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Palm Beach and the wider South Florida region. Condominiums and estates bring different installation constraints, from permissions for work in shared buildings to outdoor coverage and equipment exposure. We have offices in both regions, with local teams supporting the work.

We are licensed in New York and Florida and serve clients across New York, Connecticut and South Florida. See our service areas or contact us to discuss your property, current systems and priorities.

06

Commissioning, documentation and ongoing support

Installation is followed by programming and testing of the agreed scenes, control points and connected equipment. We walk through the controls with the household and review what should happen when a source changes, a room is unused or someone needs help. Clear labels and documented equipment make future changes easier to understand.

Remote support and service plans can help with compatible connected systems, while physical repairs and some adjustments require a visit. We discuss access permissions, support scope and the equipment that can be monitored before enabling remote tools. Start with a consultation so we can review your plans or existing installation and define a sensible next step.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

The number of rooms, lighting and shade zones, audio-video sources, existing wiring and the complexity of integrations all affect the scope. New infrastructure, custom programming and equipment replacement are assessed after a plan review or site visit. We define the scope before recommending equipment.

No. New construction gives more access for cabling and equipment locations, but existing homes can be upgraded in stages. We assess cable routes, compatible wireless devices and the systems already installed to plan a retrofit with appropriate disruption.

We service and upgrade existing Control4 systems and review other equipment for compatibility. Reuse depends on the model, condition, available integration and documentation. We explain what can stay and what needs attention before proposing changes.

Yes. We discuss service plans and remote support for compatible systems as part of ongoing care. Remote access requires appropriate permissions and connectivity; hardware repairs and some commissioning work still require an on-site visit. The agreed plan defines the support provided.

Timing depends on the scope, equipment availability and construction schedule. A focused upgrade differs from a whole-home installation with prewire, trim-out and commissioning stages. After reviewing the property and trade schedule, we outline the installation phases and when the household can expect to use the system.
