Older houses, careful routing
Many Locust Valley houses date from the first half of the twentieth century or are built in that tradition. Plaster on lath, solid floors and finished millwork make every cable route a decision. We survey the house first, find the attics, basements, chases and closets that connect floors, and plan whole-home audio and display locations around paths that already exist.
Speakers can sit in the ceiling with thin grilles painted to match, or disappear entirely behind plaster where the room calls for it. Equipment goes into a ventilated closet or basement room rather than a living-room cabinet, so the rooms look as they did before.
Simple control, solid network
On properties with outbuildings and long drives, the network is what everything else depends on. We plan a wired core in the main house and extend it to a garage, pool house or barn with outdoor-rated cable or fiber, then add cameras at the entry and drive.
For everyday control, many clients here prefer something easy. Control4 ties music, TVs, lighting and climate into a single remote and app that guests and family can learn quickly. Where a dedicated home theater is part of the plan, it joins the same system so one button starts the room.
